The non-professional buyer can benefit from three different forms of guarantees from a professional seller like Dex France:
- The legal guarantee of conformity of goods, which means that Dex France delivers goods that conform to the contract, meaning that the vehicle must match the description given to you;
- The legal guarantee of hidden defects rendering the item sold unfit for the use for which it was sold. Please note that the defect must predate the sale and render the goods unfit for the use for which they are intended;
- Finally, the commercial guarantee or contractual guarantee.
The legal guarantees apply in all cases in compliance with the conditions that govern them, while the commercial guarantees are optional.
Commercial warranty: extension possible up to 5 years with Dex France
These are therefore additional guarantees, compared to the legal guarantee. Depending on their duration, they will be offered at different prices (for more details, see conditions in showroom). They are materialized by a guarantee contract called "commercial guarantee contract" which defines the duration and scope.
The contractual guarantee is a commitment from the professional to the consumer to reimburse the purchase price of the good, to replace the good, to repair it or to offer any other service related to the good. This commitment does not replace but is in addition to the aforementioned legal guarantees (conformity and defects of the thing sold) for the duration of these. This guarantee is provided to the consumer on a durable medium which specifies its conditions, its price, its duration or even its territorial scope and which indicates that the legal guarantee of conformity and that of hidden defects remain applicable.

All of these guarantees do not replace other guarantees that may exist. When purchasing a new vehicle, for example, the manufacturer's warranty is different and covers problems related to breakdowns, within the limits of what the manufacturer is willing to replace and does not consider to be a wearing part.
In accordance with EC Regulation No. 1400/2002, all new vehicles are covered by the manufacturer's commercial guarantee according to the directives it determines. It begins from its actual delivery within the member state of the European Union.
When the manufacturer's guidelines do not provide for such a warranty, DEX France undertakes to inform the buyer and provide an equivalent one-year warranty. It is specified that the buyer may also purchase an extended warranty from an external service provider under the conditions determined by the service provider.
This warranty is provided by all establishments representing the vehicle brand located in France and within member countries of the European Union.
Its implementation is subject to compliance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Any act or omission committed by the buyer that may deprive it of its effect shall not give rise to any right of recourse against DEX France.
